How It Works
SUBMIT YOUR PROJECT
Community Cheer applicants will apply online by answering a series of questions that will ensure the project meets required criteria. Community projects that fulfill the criteria will be offered a project profile page. Each page will feature a brief outline of the project. Each page will also have 225 squares that will be filled with photos of supporters cheering. When a project receives 225 “Cheers”, it then becomes eligible and will be evaluated by the Molson Coors Community Relations team.
COMMUNITY SUPPORT & CHEER
Molson Coors Community Cheer will consider funding only projects that receive “Cheers” from 225 or more people. Their project will, in some way, promote active lifestyles, and could be park beautification, restoration of a community centre, an outdoor rink or arena, sports field, etc. The important thing is that at least 225 people cheer the community project.

DONATIONS
Through the Molson Coors Community Cheer program, Molson Coors Canada is donating $1 million to communities across Canada. Community Cheer will support a minimum of 20 projects that promote active lifestyles in the community.
SELECTING SUCCESSFUL APPLICANTS
Two main steps will determine the selection of donation recipients:
- The number of “Cheers” a community project receives
- A Molson Coors team evaluation
During the community cheer process, members of a project community can vote, like and upload photos to their favourite project submitted to OurCommunityCheer.com.
Projects that have received the minimum 225 “Cheers” (and sometimes a staff-voted "wild card") will then be evaluated by the Molson Coors Canada team.
The Molson Coors Canada evaluation team will evaluate community projects based on four key criteria:
- The amount of community cheer and support
- The ability to meet the application criteria
- The project’s alignment with Molson Coors values
- The positive social impact on the community and ability to demonstrate success
